EVENT
The Cork Media for the children 5k is a bi-yearly community event that brings together fitness, music, food, and local culture in one unified experience. The day consists of a high energy morning 5k and fun run, followed by a large scale pop up festival that builds throughout the afternoon.
As the race wraps, the atmosphere shifts into a full celebration with live DJ sets, guest artists, interactive experiences, and 20+ local vendors and food trucks filling the grounds. Major collaborators like Chick-fil-A and Smoothie King help power the event, adding recognizable community support to an already strong local presence.
What begins as a run evolves into an open air party, but behind the music and momentum is a deeper purpose. Every mile, every vendor, and every collaboration exists in support of a cause far greater than the event itself.
EVENT INFO
CAUSE
In parts of Arusha, Tanzania, many young children are sent into overcrowded and poorly supervised public schools or left completely without protection.
In these environments, children face real risks including neglect, physical beatings, sexual assault, and exploitation.
Families struggling with poverty often have no safer alternative and no resources to intervene.
Without a secure and supportive space, children grow up exposed to trauma instead of stability.
This cause is about creating a safe haven where children are protected, valued, and given a chance to grow without fear.

ACCOMPLISHMENT
Through a Cork Media led fundraising initiative, thousands of dollars were raised to directly support Felicia’s Children Center Foundation in Arusha, Tanzania.
Those funds helped the school secure official registration as a recognized educational program in Arusha, a major milestone that strengthens long term stability and credibility.
The support also ensured consistent teacher salaries, daily meals for students, classroom supplies, and basic facility improvements.
Most importantly, it allowed 25 young children to remain in a protected, structured environment instead of unsafe and overcrowded public systems.
This was not just a donation drive, it was measurable impact that created stability, legitimacy, and a safer future for vulnerable children.
