Cork Media’s Jacksonville, FL

For the
Children
5K

A morning run. An afternoon festival. All of it for the kids.

The event

Fitness. Music. Food.
One day.

The day starts with a high-energy morning 5K and fun run, then builds into a large-scale pop-up festival through the afternoon: live DJ sets, guest artists, interactive experiences, and 20+ local vendors and food trucks filling the grounds.

Collaborators like Chick-fil-A and Smoothie King help power the event. What begins as a run turns into an open-air party — but behind the music is a purpose bigger than the event itself.

Children at Felicia's Children Center in Arusha, Tanzania

Why we run

Every mile funds a safe place to grow up.

In parts of Arusha, Tanzania, many young children are sent into overcrowded, poorly supervised schools or left without protection — facing real risks of neglect, abuse, and exploitation. Families struggling with poverty often have no safer alternative. This cause is about a safe haven where children are protected, valued, and given a chance to grow without fear.

  • Thousands of dollars raised through a Cork Media led fundraising initiative.
  • Helped the school secure official registration as a recognized educational program in Arusha.
  • Funded consistent teacher salaries, daily meals, classroom supplies, and facility improvements.
  • Kept 25 young children in a protected, structured environment instead of unsafe, overcrowded systems.
